Wodonga is a tiny city on the Victorian side of the edge with New South Wales, 300 kilometers north-east of Melbourne, Australia. This beautiful city is situated between Sydney and Melbourn just beside the main road beside the river Murray. Its biggest city "Twin" which is also called the City of Albury, is situated just in the opposite side of Murray River.

 

Wodonga if famous for its shopping zone, this is located beside the Centro Wodonga Shopping Centre where the shops are situated beside the High street of the Elgin Boulevard. Another attractive park Woodland Grove that has water tower of thirty three meter high (built in 1923) and also sculptures, war memorial, a café which gives you the opportunity to overlook the territories and paved pathways,  is located just near the High Street at its southern end. This High Street takes you to a garden surrounded by six-way roundabout and then gives you the beautiful view of planted trees along central strip and lawns which is also called Beechworth Road.
There is also a huge collection of attractive reserves and parks throughout whole Wodonga, many located beside the several watercourses in housing areas including a road for walking and also bicycle pathways. Some of the biggest parks offer a combination of deciduous and trees which becomes more dazzling when it’s leafs have bright orange shade in the autumn season. At the north end of central town, there also exists Sumsion Garden which is also surrounded by a large and very beautiful lagoon. Also there is a walkway which has gone right around that lagoon, plus BBQ and picnic facilities, a playground, shelters and also a rotunda which can be accessed through a footbridge and ends to a pretty island just inside the lake.
The Gateway Island separates Wodonga from Albury which is also surrounded by river Wodonga Creek and Albury. Island have the Gateway Village with features like a visitor center, a theater, craft and souvenir outlets, customs house, walking trail throughout the parkland and so on beside the beautiful river. Here the Union bridge over river Murray is situated where the border between New South Wales and Victoria is located. To walk across the border, just walk through the pathway passing Byrne Lagoon or while driving, park your car at car park to enjoy the river. You can also enjoy the local sculpture there.
There is also a very beautiful artificial lake called Lake Hume near the Wodonga. This is constructed from the border of the river Murray. This water supports irrigation and also supports a hydro-electric power plant. This lake has a great attraction for the tourists as it offers you boating, fishing, water skiing and so on. This is also a very safe place for swimming.
Again Wodonga is a peaceful place with people of several religions and with historical interest. If you are looking for enjoyable drive, then this is the perfect place.
