The stretch of the road that goes from Lorne to Apollo bay is a highway that is shaped into steep cliffs that descends to the ocean. Going from Apollo bay, you will find some amazing rocks that have been formed by the strong waves of the southern ocean on your way before you get to Port Campbell National Park. These rocks are called by the name, 12 Apostles, and their location has been the most famous on the Great Ocean Road. As you drive through the road, you will also be able to discover the history of how the Great Ocean Road was built as a memorial for the servicemen that returned from World War 1. |
