Mount Buffalo National Park is situated on a mountain plateau, north-east of Melbourne and is reachable via the Hume Freeway and Great Alpine Road. Mt Buffalo has eleven kilometers of cross-country ski terrain and marked trails for suitable for all ages and capabilities. The area includes and a further twenty kilometers of more distant, unmarked trails and fantastic off-piste backcountry ski touring. The Australian resort of Mt Buffalo (Victoria) is very popular among the inexperienced and beginner skiers and snowboarders. The area is also famous for its picturesque cross-country trails. The cosy resort has been attracting visitors for over sixty years and has quiet and friendly atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Mt Buffalo Skiing Holidays
The skiing area of several hectares is not vast, but there is enough space to every type of skier or snowboarder. There are two double ski lifts and five pomas on the alpine, which bring the different capability level riders to various height of the alpine area.
Mount Buffalo provides with distinctive accommodation to its visitors in the Chalet. Its is a charming, historic guest house with various types of rooms.
The resort is not far away from both Australian cities of Sydney and Melbourne, so there are different transportation options. One of the routes to Buffalo is via Victoria’s Hume Highway. Travellers can also take a train at Southern Cross Railway Station in transfer to buses that bring them to Porepunkah, which is the gateway to the ski resort. The nearest airports are those in Albury and Mt Hotham so traveling with an airplane is pretty good and fast option to reach Mount Buffalo.
