As the Northern Territory is in the tropical zone, there are two seasons – summer (November – April) and winter (May – October). The summers are hot and humid, with average temperatures from 23 to 34°C. The winters are with low humidity and average temperatures between 20 and 33°C. During the winter nights the temperatures can fall to zero. The rainfall ranges a lot – 1570 mm in the north to 150mm in the south annually. There can be hurricanes or typhoons on the coasts during the wet season.
